The Torque M(Nm) that is available to drive a hydraulic pump from a motor or engine can be calculated as follows:-

1. Power N (kW), this can range from 0.25 to 55kW for Hydraproducts power pack range.
2. Pump Speed n, for AC Motors this is commonly 1450 or 2850rpm

Useful conversions factors:

1kW = 1.34hp

1Nm = 0.737 lbf.ft = 141 oz.in
